About Amanda
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a passion for supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and personal growth. My therapeutic approach is compassionate, holistic, and deeply individualized to meet your unique needs.
My approach
I take a holistic, strength-based approach to therapy, which means I consider the whole person—your physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual well-being—when working with you. My focus is on building a collaborative relationship where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. I believe that each person has unique strengths and the potential for growth, and I’m committed to helping you tap into those strengths to navigate life's challenges.
My focus
I typically work with individuals navigating a variety of challenges, including those dealing with depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, mood disorders, and trauma. I also have experience supporting LGBTQ+, POC, and disabled clients, creating a safe, inclusive space for all. My approach is particularly effective for those looking to explore self-care, self-love, and spiritual growth as part of their healing process. I am most comfortable treating individuals who are ready to engage in deep, meaningful work towards emotional well-being and personal growth.
My communication style
In our sessions, I create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. My goal is to establish a space that is both supportive and empowering, allowing you to feel heard, understood, and respected. While I strive to make the space welcoming and relaxed, I also foster an atmosphere that encourages growth and self-exploration, which can sometimes be challenging but ultimately inspiring. Working with me feels like having a collaborative partnership where we explore your concerns together, with a focus on developing practical tools for healing and creating lasting change.
My journey to mental healthcare
I’ve known I wanted to be a therapist since I was 12 years old. Growing up, I often saw family and friends struggle with their challenges, and it left me feeling helpless. Alongside this, I also faced my mental health struggles from a young age. These experiences deeply shaped my desire to help others who are going through similar difficulties. What drives me to be a therapist is the opportunity to support people in overcoming their challenges, offering them the understanding and guidance that I wish I had when I was struggling. My journey fuels my passion for this work, as I believe in the power of healing and personal growth.
My goals for you
When it comes to goal setting, I take a collaborative and individualized approach. We begin by exploring what is most important to you, whether that’s overcoming specific challenges, improving emotional regulation, or fostering personal growth. Together, we’ll identify both short-term and long-term goals that feel meaningful and attainable, while ensuring they align with your values and aspirations. My goal is to empower you to take ownership of your growth while providing the support and guidance you need to thrive.
My first session with you
During our first session, you can expect a welcoming and open-minded environment where I’ll take the time to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll start by discussing your background, your current concerns, and any goals you have for therapy. I’ll also provide an overview of my approach, so you feel comfortable with how we’ll work together.
